Peoples Health Routine Transportation Benefit

Peoples Health dual-eligible special needs plans offer a routine transportation benefit. Members pay $0 for transportation to and from network doctor offices, pharmacies and other plan-approved locations within 75 miles of the home. The number of covered one-way trips varies by plan.

When are transportation services available?

Routine transportation is available Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Availability for specific dates and times cannot be guaranteed. Weekend and holiday service is not available.

How do I schedule a trip?

Call the Customer Service phone number on the back of your member ID card at least three business days before your appointment. We can help you schedule a trip with the Peoples Health network transportation provider.

Please note the following:

  • You must be able to walk without assistance from the driver; if you need help getting in or out of the vehicle, you can bring a companion who is 18 or older
  • Multi-passenger vehicles for this service cannot accommodate special needs
  • You may have to share a ride with other passengers in a van or bus

How do I cancel a trip?

Call to let us know by 5 p.m. on the last business day before the scheduled trip. If you cancel later or miss the pickup window, the trip may be deducted from your annual transportation benefit.

Which plans are eligible for the benefit?

The routine transportation benefit is available to members of the following plans:
  • Peoples Health Secure Health (HMO-POS D-SNP)
  • Peoples Health Secure Complete (HMO-POS D-SNP)
  • Peoples Health Dual Complete LA-S5 (HMO-POS D-SNP)
