The Peoples Health Champions Program honored caregiver June Etta Ruiz on Sept. 16, 2018, during the New Orleans Saints game against the Cleveland Browns. Ruiz came out of retirement at age 80 to help provide around-the-clock in-home care to a client in need. Caregiving work is demanding, but her dedication and relentless energy keep her going strong. After decades of caregiving, Ruiz has learned that helping others keeps you young.
