As a leader in the managed care industry since 1988, Carol A. Solomon directs one of the fastest growing and most innovative managed care organizations in Louisiana. Ms. Solomon is the Vice President and General Manager for Tenet Choices, Inc., and Chief Executive Officer of Peoples Health Network.
Prior to her work with Tenet Choices and Peoples Health Network, Ms. Solomon provided leadership to other health care companies in Louisiana. These organizations included MedFirst Health Plans, where she was Chief Executive Officer, and LSU Medical Center, where she led the development of a pilot managed care project. Prior to coming to Louisiana, Ms. Solomon was Vice President of Operations of CAC Ramsay (now United Health Care), the second largest HMO in South Florida. Ms. Solomon's professional background includes operations, finance and provider network development.
Ms. Solomon currently serves on the Board of Planned Parenthood of Louisiana and on the Board and Executive Committee of Louisiana Association of Health Plans (LAHP), and is chair of LAHP's Legislative Committee. She is a founding member of the Women's Leadership Initiative with the United Way of New Orleans. She is also a member of the American Association of Health Plans and serves on the Gala Committee of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation.
