Emergency Hot Line

To determine if Peoples Health is open or closed during an emergency or disaster situation, Peoples Health has set up two hot line numbers for you to call. The hot line number will link you to a recorded messages that reports the status of Peoples Health offices and instructions, if necessary.

The hot line numbers are: (504) 837-9161 and (800) 928-6320

Emergency Email Accounts

To assist Peoples Health in remaining in contact with you in the event that our offices are inaccessible because of a disaster, Peoples Health has created Yahoo! e-mail accounts for each employee. Through the Yahoo! e-mail accounts, Peoples Health will communicate important information and updates to all employees during emergency situations.

The e-mail accounts have already been created, but we ask that you please follow the instructions below to acquaint yourself with your account and to verify that is set up correctly.

• Open Internet Explorer and go to: www.yahoo.com. Click on the “Mail” tab on the right-hand side of the screen, and then click the “Sign In” link.

• Enter in your Peoples Health assigned ID which has been assigned to you. If you need assistance recovering you password, contact the IT department.

• Once you are logged in, click on the “Mail” tab on the right-hand side of the screen to access your Yahoo! mail page.

• Click on your inbox on the left-hand side of the page. You will receive updates from Peoples Health in your inbox in the event of an emergency. The messages you receive will be from the following sender: phn.group01.

• Click the “Yahoo!” link in the far, upper left corner of the screen to return to the Yahoo! main page.

• On the sidebar, click “Groups.” You will see a box labeled “My Groups,” which contains the Peoples Health e-mail group, phngroup01.

• You can click either phngroup01 or the Peoples Health logo to access the Peoples Health group page. Updates and/or instructions from Peoples Health will be posted here, as well as sent to your inbox. 

• If you have any questions for Peoples Health about the status of the offices, you can send a message to the moderator of the Peoples Health group by clicking on the “Send E-mail” link located a few lines beneath the Peoples Health logo. This message will only go to the group moderators, not to the entire group.

• You can e-mail other employees through the group page by clicking on the “Members” link on the sidebar. The “Members” page lists all Peoples Health employees by their Peoples Health Yahoo! ID. You can search for an employee by entering phn.first name initial last name, with no spaces.
